The GHS is an acronym for The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. Chemicals are associated with codes that define their health, physical and environmental hazards. This universal hazard communication system was developed to ensure that employers, employees and consumers are provided with adequate, practical, reliable and comprehensible information on the hazards of chemicals, so that they can take effective preventive and protective measure for their own health and safety.

EU Hazard Classification Directive 67/548/EECHazard Symbols are used to classify dangerous substances.
Hazard SymbolsRisk Phrases, denoted as a series of numbers preceded by the letter "R" indicate the nature of the special risks, in accordance with Annex III to Directive 67/548/EEC (see Article 23(2)(d) Directive 67/548/EEC). The numbers are separated by either a comma to denote separate statements concerning special risks, or an oblique stroke (/) to denote a combined statement, in a single sentence, of the special risks.
Risk PhrasesSafety Phrases, denoted as a series of numbers preceded by the letter "S" indicating the recommended safety precautions, in accordance with Annex IV to Directive 67/548/EEC. The numbers are separated by either a comma to denote separate statements concerning safety precautions, or an oblique stroke (/) to denote a combined statement, in a single sentence, of the safety precautions.

Warnings
Danger contains: Methylpentane solvent, calcium carbonate. Extremely flammable. Keep from heat, sparks and flame. Vapor may ignite explosively. Do not smoke. Extinguish all flame, burners, stoves, heaters and pilot lights and disconnect all electrical motors and appliances before use and until all vapors are gone. Prevent build up of vapor by opening all windows and doors to achieve cross ventilation. May cause eye, skin and respiratory irritation. May cause central nervous system effects including dizziness, headaches or nausea. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid breathing vapor. Contains n-Hexane which can cause peripheral polyneuropathy and cause nerve damage. NOTICE: Reports have associated repeated and prolonged occupational over exposure to solvents with permanent brain, nervous system, liver and kidney damage or may cause cardiac arrhythmia. INTENTIONAL MISUSE BY DELIBERATELY INHALING THE CONTENTS MAY BE HARMFUL OR FATAL. First Aid: Skin contact, wash off quickly with plenty of water for 15 minutes. SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. If inhalation causes physical discomfort, remove to fresh air. If discomfort persists or any breathing difficulty occurs, or if swallowed, SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. For medical emergency call 1-800-424-9300. Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for further information. Proposition 65: This product does not knowingly contain material listed by the State of California as known to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm. VOC Content: 274.9 grams per Liter or 2.29 lbs. per gallon. Bar Code: 0-51527-72300-2 -
Acute health effects
From MSDS:
Inhalation: Headaches, dizziness, nausea, decreased blood pressure, changes in heart rate and cyanosis may result from over-exposure to vapor. Prolonged inhalation may be harmful.
Ingestion: Irritating to mouth, throat and stomach.
Primary routes of entry: skin contact, inhalation, eye contact. -
Chronic health effects
From MSDS:
This product contains solvents. Reports associate repeated and prolonged occupational overexposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system damage. Reports also indicate that solvents cause liver damage, kidney damage, and mucous membrane irritation. Be warned that intentional misuse of this product by deliberately inhaling the vapors and/or the product contents (a process often called ***sniffing***) may be harmful or fatal. Preexisting respiratory or skin condition(s) may be aggr -
Carcinogenicity
This product contains silicon dioxide (quartz) which has been listed as a suspected human carcinogen by NTP and IARC. -
Handling information
Keep out of reach of children. If user operations generate dust, fume, or mist, use ventilation to keep exposure to airborne contaminants below the exposure limit. Storage: Keep container closed when not in use. -
Disposal information
Review all local, state, and federal regulations concerning health and pollution for appropriate disposal procedures. -
First Aid
Eyes: Flush eyes with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention.
Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with soap and water. Get medical attention.
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get immediate medical attention.
Ingestion: If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Give victim a glass of water or milk. Call a physician or poison control center immediately. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Should vomiting occur, be sure to keep victim's head below hips to avoid aspiration of vomitus into lungs.
